We left off with the chapter on Angleton, the deadliest man in the CIA. Yesterday, we're going to kind of pick up where we left off. Where we left off, did the CIA lie in what was perhaps one of the most important investigations in history, the Warren Commission investigation into the assassination of JFK? You might be surprised to know that even the CIA admits it lied to the Warren Commission. An article in 2015 in Politico reveals that the agency
0:29
found in its own investigation, quote, John McCone came to the CIA as an outsider, a quote unquote outsider. An industrialist and an engineer by training, he replaced veteran supply master Alan Dulles as director of the CIA in November 1961, after JFK had forced Dulles out following the CIA's bungling of Fidel Castro and the Bay of Pigs.
0:57
McCone had one overriding mission, restore order to the besieged CIA. Kennedy hoped his management skills might prevent a future debacle. Even if the California, mostly a stranger to the clubby, blue-blooded world of men like Dulles, who had always run the spy agency, faced a steep learning curve. After JFK's assassination in Dallas in November 1963, President
1:25
Lyndon Johnson kept McCone in place at the CIA and he became the most important witness for the Warren Commission, the panel Johnson created to investigate Kennedy's murder. Now, a couple of things stick out about that. The fact that he's a quote unquote industrialist businessman means he's one of the international syndicate. He is not an outsider. That's number one. Number two, the fact that LBJ kept him on.
1:57
And the CIA was involved? Tells you everything that you need to know, even if we didn't go any further. But let's keep going. The Politico article did a fine job of setting the stage for McCone's lies, but omitted one very crucial fact. The head of the Warren Commission was none other than Alan Dulles, the former head of the CIA, who had been fired by Kennedy. In a legal investigation, that would have been a glaring conflict of interest.
2:25
You're not supposed to have a prior relationship with the individual because it influences your objectivity. You do not get to investigate the murder of the man who fired you. Unless, of course, you're involved with Congress and everybody else. As the former head of the CIA, Dulles was also likely to know McCone was what he was concealing. However, instead of asking questions about Dulles, the article focused on McCone.
2:59
Quote, but did McCone come close to perjury all those decades ago? Did the one time Washington outsider, in fact, hide agency secrets that might still rewrite the history of the assassination? Even the CIA is now willing to raise those questions. Half a century after JFK's death. Hold on. I see that in a once secret report written in 20.
3:32
by the CIA's top in-house historian and quietly declassified last fall, the spy agency acknowledged what others were convinced of a long time ago, that McCone and other CIA officials were complicit in keeping incendiary information from the Warren Commission. According to the report by CIA historian David Robars, McCone, who died in 1991,
4:01
was at the heart of a benign cover-up of the spy agency, intended to keep the commission focused on what the agency believed at the time was the best truth that Lee Harvey Oswald, for as yet undetermined motives, had acted alone in killing JFK." I'm always a little suspicious when government agents start using weasel words to describe what in the rest of the civilized world would be described as lying.
4:30
For those same government agencies were sitting across the table from us asking us questions. We answered as they did. They'd call perjury and likely prosecute us. You weren't complicit in keeping incendiary information from the government. You lied. There's no difference to perjury called benign cover up. And when one raises a hand in a legal proceeding, you don't swear to tell the best truth.
5:00
It's the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. There really isn't a lot of wiggle room. The most important information that McComb withheld from the commission in 1964, the report found, was, quote, the existence for years of CIA plots to assassinate Castro, some of which put the CIA in cahoots with the mafia. Without this information, the commission never even knew to ask questions of whether Oswald
5:30
had accomplices in Cuba or elsewhere who wanted Kennedy dead in retaliation for the Castro plot, unquote. It also meant people like Miami Station Chief Ted Shackley would not come to the attention of congressional or other law enforcement agencies who might want to dig a little deeper into the details of that relationship. Going on with the article, quote,
5:55
The report identifies other tantalizing information that McCone did not reveal to the commission, including evidence that the CIA might somehow have been in communication with Oswald before 63, and that the spy agency had secretly monitored Oswald's mail after he attempted to defect to the Soviet Union in 59. The CIA mail opening program, which was later determined to have been blatantly illegal, had the code name
6:23
H.T. Lingwell. It would be surprising if the DCI were not told about the program. After the Kennedy administration, the report says, if not, his subordinates deceived him. If he did know about H.T. Lingwell reporting on Oswald, he was not being forthright.
6:51
to the commission presumably to protect an operation that was highly compartmentalized and, if disclosed, was sure to arouse much controversy." When dealing with the CIA, it often seems that their answers only generate more questions. Although it's been covered in many fine books, as well as Oliver Stone's movie, it's probably worthwhile to review a few odd facts about Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who fingered
7:20
was fingered in the Warren Commission as being the lone assassin. At the height of the Cold War, Oswald, who had been a radar operator at an airbase in Japan, which launched U-2s over Russia, and again, that U-2 program was the CIA's. It was not the Air Force's U-2 program at the time. So Oswald was working assigned to a CIA mission.
7:49
Shortly after, he quote-unquote defected to the Soviet Union. He tried to join Soviet intelligence, we're told, promising to reveal information about the U-2 program. But the Russians thought he was a fake. When Oswald returned to the U.S., he was not prosecuted, but he was given money and aid by the State Department. You know, like he was there on a mission.
8:18
later raising suspicions that he may have been an intelligence asset. He went sometime in the summer of 63 to New Orleans, the home territory of mafia boss Carlos Marcelo, became associated with pro Castro groups, got into a well-publicized fight with an anti-Castro group, appeared on a local radio show praising Castro, you know, like he was actually putting on a show.
8:49
and struck up an unlikely friendship with an older wealthy man, George DeMorganshield, a petroleum engineer and occasional CIA field agent. He got a job at the Texas Book Depository, which overlooked the motorcade route. Now, for those of you who are new, I found, tucked away in a little book, the fact that Alan Dulles, decades before this,
9:19
had met George DeMorganshield in Azerbaijan, Baku, Azerbaijan. George's father, we're just going to refer to him as DeMorganshield Sr., worked for the Nobel family who owned the oil in this particular area of Azerbaijan. He owned the company that had the concession.
9:53
He, the Nobel family, and DeMorgenschild Sr., as their agent in Azerbaijan, wanted to sell their concession for the oil. The buyer was Standard Oil. Their lawyer agent for that deal was Allen Dulles. So Allen Dulles went over there and spent a lot of time, frequent visitor, and
10:23
knew the DeMorganshield family very well. George at the time was like 10 or 11 years old. So this is a very long established relationship that Allen Dulles had with George DeMorganshield. It wasn't just some occasional Russian immigrant that just so happened to be in New Orleans and so happened to live in Dallas and so happened to invite Oswald's wife to live with them.
10:53
None of that was a coincidence. That was all on purpose, and they had had a longstanding relationship. I doubt whether this guy even knows that part of it, because I found it tucked away in a book about how all wars were basically based on resources and pipelines. He was arrested that day by the Dallas police for murdering JFK. He famously declares that he's a patsy.
11:24
Then he gets gunned down by Jack Ruby, the nightclub owner who claimed that he did it because he wanted to spare Jackie Kennedy the trauma of a trial. And of course, we know Jack Ruby is Jack Rubenstein, and he also is affiliated with the mafia. That nightclub he was running was owned by a mafia person. Ruby had worked in Chicago and New Orleans for the mob.
11:53
And even though the CIA in 2013 wanted the American people to believe that they were revealing all they knew about the Kennedy administration, there were still secrets being kept. Quote, the declassification of the bulk of the 1913 McCone report, I'm sorry, 2013 McCone report might suggest a new openness by the CIA in trying to resolve the lingering mystery about the Kennedy assassination.
12:19
At the same time, there are 15 places in public versions of the report that the CIA had deleted sensitive information, sometimes individual names, sometimes whole sentences. It is an acknowledgement, it seems, that there is still secrets about the Kennedy assassination hidden in agency files, unquote. Somebody who clearly didn't believe the Warren Commission's conclusions about the Kennedy assassination was Richard Nixon. Oh yeah, great, Illini's here.
12:49
And he wanted his CIA director, Richard Helms, who we just talked about yesterday, to know it, as revealed by one of the most infamous Watergate tapes. Quote, we protected Helms from one hell of a lot of things. Nixon growled on the tape. You open the scab, there's a hell of a lot of things. And we just feel that it would be very detrimental to have this thing go any further.
13:18
This involves these Cubans, ex-CIA man and Watergate burglar Howard Hunt, and a lot of hanky-panky that we have nothing to do with ourselves. Nixon advised Chief of Staff H.R. Haldeman on how to get the CIA director to kill the FBI probe. Say, look, the problem is that this will open the hole.
13:48
the whole Bay of Pigs thing. And the president just feels that without going into details, don't lie to them to the extent to say that there's no involvement, but just say that this is sort of a comedy of errors, bizarre, without getting into it. The president believes that this is going to open the whole Bay of Pigs thing up again, unquote. The Cubans that Nixon is referring to on the tapes,
14:16
are a group of Cubans and their assorted allies who had been running out of the Miami CIA station by Shackley. Shackley could count the alleged assassins of Kennedy as well as the convicted members of the Watergate burglary team as all his former employees, which must be some kind of historic record of coincidences. And it seems as if Nixon's reference to the whole Bay of Pig thing
14:45
was a lightly disguised code for CIA operations against Castro and how that might have resulted in Kennedy's assassination. Quote, Haldeman's suggestion that Nixon used the phrase the whole Bay of Pigs thing, unquote, was a coded reference to the assassination of JFK on November 22nd, 1963. It was, he wrote, the president's way of reminding Helms.
15:15
Not so gently that the cover-up of the CIA's assassination attempt on the heroes, on the hero of the Bay of Pigs, Fidel Castro, a CIA operation that might have triggered the Kennedy tragedy and which Helms desperately wanted to hide, unquote. The question would be, which group from the anti-Castro efforts, the anti-Castro Cubans, the mafia, or the CIA?
15:42
would be most likely to have participated in Kennedy's assassination and why. Note how far we are from any conversation of the possibility that Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone gunman. Let's look at the question through the lens of power. Which group might expect to commit such a crime and get away with it? The anti-Castro Cubans, given their recent arrival in America, independence on the CIA, would have the least hope of getting away with a heinous act.
16:10
The mafia might have a little more power, but given their tenuous position in American life, probably wouldn't take such an action on their own. They might. I just don't think it's likely. My opinion is the group which would reasonably believe they have the best chance of getting away with it would have been the CIA. That doesn't mean it's true. It's just the most likely answer. If you look at other opinions, I encourage you to determine whether the author stated.
16:40
it as simply as i just did quote holderman's take on the whole bay of pigs thing lived on in oliver stone's 1995 nixon film which depicted an ominous exchange about the bay of pigs in which helms condescends to nixon in articulating his dream of detente with china and russia nixon says cuba would be a small price to pay
17:11
Helms replies, so President Kennedy thought. Spliced with film footage of JFK's assassination, the exchange implied enemies of Kennedy's Cuba policy were behind his assassination, which of course would have been the CIA. While Nixon did want to taunt with China and Russia and didn't want to end up like Kennedy, he also wanted the CIA to know he wasn't going to air their dirty laundry.
17:44
By the time of his presidency, he considered Cuba to be a dead issue. They were not going to dislodge Castro. In other words, Nixon might be moving in a new direction, but he didn't want the CIA to think he was going to be digging up old secrets. In another tape, Nixon laid out his thinking to CIA Director Helms, reflecting a recent discussion he had had with John Ehrlichman.
18:10
Now to get to the dirty tricks part of it, Nixon went on. I know what happened in Iran, which was a CIA sponsored coup in 1953. I also know what happened in Guatemala, which was a CIA sponsored coup in 1954. And I totally approve both because they both happened while he was the vice president and he knew all about them. I also know what happened with the planning of the Bay of Pigs under Eisenhower and totally approved it.
18:40
Nixon wanted to talk about what he saw in JFK's failure, namely his refusal to authorize air support for the CIA-backed rebels when Castro forces pinned them down on the beaches of the Bay of Pig. The problem was not the CIA, Nixon said. The problem was that your plan was not carried out. It was a GD good plan if it had been backed up at the proper time.
19:08
if he'd just flown a couple planes over there that damn place dot dot dot now of course those of you who've been with me through this whole thing know that all of that is not true kennedy um the whole bay of pigs plan was laid out well before kennedy took office when kennedy was briefed on this plan
19:34
His basically only caveat was no U.S. military will be involved, none. And he was fine with the people that had already been trained in Honduras. He was fine with the air support and the camouflage story of them being current Castro pilots that had taken off from Cuba.
20:05
and did a bombing run on their way to safety, like they're fleeing Cuba. The problem is that the aircraft that was being used was largely US aircraft from World War II that was still in the Air National Guard and had been bought by the CIA and sitting down there for them to use. And they were not the same models as the aircraft in Cuba.
20:32
The way that they were going to tell the story is one of the missions of the pilots was not even involved in the initial air run to bomb the air bases in Cuba and destroy their air force. His mission was to fly directly into Miami and tell a story that they wanted all Americans to believe. And that was that he was a defector like that day from Cuba, which was 100 percent not true. He had been trained.
21:02
down in Guatemala and other various places to fly these missions. And he was just the storyteller. The problem is he landed in an aircraft that was a US aircraft disguised to look like a Cuban aircraft, but it had modifications that the Cuban aircraft did not have. And as a result, a very bright journalist
21:28
Caught that, took pictures of it, and it spread across the United States that day that the guy was lying to the press, that he was not a defector from Cuba. He was not flying a Cuban Air Force aircraft. And therefore, the next day, Kennedy says, you have to cancel the next attack on the air attack on Cuba because we've already been exposed. If you were to take.
21:58
the same aircraft and fly more bombing missions, they're going to know it's us. So I just want everybody to know that. That's what the research reveals is the only reason the second day air attacks were canceled is because they had already been exposed as fake.
22:18
The narrative of American power, both covert and overt, should be clear in Nixon's statement. Just as the communists were trying to overthrow governments around the world, we were doing the same thing. That's what led to the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the near war with Cuba. The question, which might have been asked in the early 1970s, given the nearly 30 years that had passed since the World War II, was,
22:46
What was the path forward? Kennedy had wanted to de-escalate the East-West conflict in the 60s and may have paid the ultimate price for it. In the early 70s, Nixon seemed to prefer a similar approach. If we look at Watergate as something of as a one-two punch by the deep state, the CIA supplying the incompetent burglars, the FBI pretending to do a serious investigation, it would appear we have our answer.
23:15
But the false trail kept being laid with either the Cubans working with the mafia or the mafia working on its own. The well-known political columnist Jack Anderson thought he had the Kennedy assassination figured out in 88 and published his claim in the Washington Post. This is a quote. The killers were handpicked by Santo Traficante, who.
23:44
had been the mafia boss in the pre-Castro Havana. After six hit teams failed, the CIA reportedly learned that Trafficani had tipped off Castro. The CIA cut the mafia out, but continued. Without Trafficani's help, Castro no longer knew when or where the CIA would strike. In September 1963, he publicly warned that if the CIA continued its attempts to kill Cuban leaders,
24:14
then American leaders would no longer be safe. Participants in the plot against Castro claimed that Castro then enlisted Traficani to turn the mafia against Kennedy. Traficani allegedly got the assistance of two other mafia godfathers, Sam Giacana and Carlos Marcelo, who hated Kennedy for his crackdown on the mob. For such a crime, the mafia needed someone to divert suspicion from themselves.
24:42
That's how they allegedly found Lee Harvey Oswald, a political crackpot who had once defected to Russia, unquote. It's a powerful claim and some parts of it may be true, but let's first kick the tires of this theory. Castro kicks the mob out of Cuba when he comes to power by taking away their casinos. Well, he took away everything. They owned all of the industry down there.
25:11
remember they owned the airlines they owned um united fruit was there they owned a lot of the farmlands the sugar plantations william polly owned um the airline uh william polly owned the entire bus service throughout the entire island we owned the railroads um we owned a whole bunch of not to mention all of the hospitality industry down there with
25:37
the casinos, the hotels and all of that stuff. So we owned a lot. And plus the CIA was using it, which doesn't come up often enough. They were using it as the hub for the heroin trafficking coming out of Southeast Asia, Taiwan. Okay. The mafia and the CIA collaborated in getting rid of Castro because they each had their own reason to hate.
26:06
The CIA and the mafia sent in six assassination teams, all of which failed. We don't know why they failed. The claim is that Traficani had secretly made a deal with Castro over the CIA. Traficani then enlists the aid of two other mob godfathers, Giacono and Marcello, both of whom live in the U.S., not Cuba, to kill the president of the U.S. And of course, they need a fall guy, Patsy, which is where Lee Harvey Oswald comes in.
26:36
Does it make sense that these three powerful mafia dons would have risked the wrath of the U.S. government in such an action? Let's just have a little skepticism as we continue with Jack Anderson's article. The CIA veteran who directed the abortive attempt to assassinate Castro, William Harvey, told his supervisors that the operation had backfired against President Kennedy's associates said.
27:06
Then CIA Director John McCone shared the shocking report with Robert F. Kennedy and the new president, LBJ. In the 1970s, a congressional committee investigated CIA's use of mafia hitmen to kill Castro. Senate investigators asked questions about whether Castro used the mafia to retaliate against Kennedy. The committee subpoenaed Santo Traficani, Sam Giacono, the mobster who had worked for Harvey.
27:36
Johnny Roselli. Traficani fled to the Caribbean, our sources said, but before Giaccona and Roselli could say anything that might link Traficani to Dallas, they were killed. Police concluded from the evidence that the men were hit by Traficani. Traficani, who died in 1987, refused to answer committee questions, unquote.
28:02
It's all an airtight little package until you realize the CIA and particularly Ted Shackley's boss, William Harvey, was in charge of all the parts of the narrative. It's Harvey who picked Shackley to head the Miami station chief in charge of going after Castro. It's Harvey and Shackley who handed over the U-Haul full of guns and ammunition to Roselli. And it's Harvey who told his bosses, sorry, guys, our mafia buddies got out of hand.
28:31
turned traitor with Castro and killed the president. Let's just imagine for a moment that this scenario is true and that there would be good reason to hide it from the public. In the shadows, don't you think the FBI would absolutely rip the mafia apart? Well, they would if they were actually Americans or worked for the American government. Are you genuinely supposed to believe
28:56
that in the immediate aftermath of the Kennedy assassination in 1963, the CIA knew that Santo Trafficano, Carlos Marcelo, and Johnny Roselli were involved and simply let them go on living until Congress called them in 1976. The CIA supposedly had trained assassins, but they had lost six of those teams in Cuba, so maybe they were low on manpower.
29:23
And they couldn't put any of them on the job of taking out the guys who killed the president. I, for one, do not believe this narrative. But in July 2022, the Daily Mail claimed that they had a story which would finally reveal the truth of the Kennedy assassination in an article entitled The Most Convincing Account Yet of How and Why the Mob Killed JFK. The new film by relative of mob boss.
29:53
sheds new light on the president's assassination nearly 60 years later. Aren't you trembling with anticipation now that after all these years, you're finally going to get the truth? Here's a quote from that. As the most notorious boss of the Chicago mob since Al Capone, Sam Giacono controlled a notorious criminal enterprise stretching across America. He had an army of thugs to call on. But for two days in November 1963,
30:23
He asked for help from his little-known brother, Pepe. He was only a humble, illegal bookie in the Giacomo empire, but Sam needed someone to chauffeur him around while the mobsters, who usually did so, were out of town. As Pepe later confided to family, those men had gone to Dallas to do a job for Giacomo, one that could become a seminal moment in the 20th century, unquote.
30:53
You've got your exciting book. Sam Giacono was the biggest, baddest mafia chieftain since Al Capone. But this heartless villain had a soft spot for his little brother Pepe, who he brought in when his best evil henchman had to go out of town for an important job. And it was humble Pepe who would finally give the truth to the world. Quote, now at long last, we may be coming closer to the truth. Filmmaker Nicholas.
31:22
the great nephew of Sam Giacano, says his great uncle Pepe and other members of the family have finally confided to him exactly how the mafia killed JFK, and just as importantly, allowed him to reveal it. He is working with Pulitzer Prize winning screenwriter and director David Mammer to produce a new
31:49
and what they believed to be the definitive version of the final 48 hours of Kennedy's life. The story I get from Pepe was the underbelly of what happened on those two days. From a man who was a fly on the wall listening to how this was coming together, Solosi told the Mail this week, Sam had a tight circle of who he trusted. His brother, with whom he was very close, was one of them. Unquote.
32:19
Now, let me be clear about this. I can't tell you if everybody in the story is being honest or not. I wasn't chauffeuring Giacana around in 1963. But as a former CIA investigator, when a crime family says they're going to finally tell the truth about an important historical event, I'm a little skeptical. But let's return to Pepe's story. Quote, the 1964 Warren Commission into the killing.
32:48
decided that Oswald had acted alone. But 15 years later, the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations set up an investigation into the death of JFK and MLK concluded that Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. Oliver Stone's JFK wove an elaborate web of conspiracy around shooting, including the mob, the CIA, Army generals, FBI agents, Dallas police.
33:18
Cuban dissidents, New Orleans, gays and pedophiles, pedophile ex-priests. But while it's hard to actually imagine any part of the U.S. establishment, even the spooks executing a president, the mafia sounds entirely feasible, unquote. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the intelligence agency's persuasion switch. They know the typical reader with familiar.
33:46
was familiar with Oliver Stone's version of the Kennedy assassination. So they lightly mock it. Then they give you a simple version. The mob did it. They're hoping you'll never really wanted to believe the segments of your own government participated in horrific crime because you're a good person who don't want to believe our leaders are so corrupt. And so they're giving you a psychological escape hatch. It was the mafia and only the mafia. Now that you're primed.
34:16
They'll start picking away at the Warren Commission findings, but in a way that points not to our intelligence agencies or other branches of government, just to the mob. Okay, another quote from the article. The Warren Commission accepted Ruby's claim that he acted impulsively shooting Oswald outside of the Dallas police headquarters out of insane grief over the JFK killing. According to Nicholas Solosi, Ruby was one of...
34:45
the members of a crucial triangle in the Mafia's JFK operation that also included two Sam Giacono Stooges in assassins Johnny, Handsome John, Roselli, and Charles, Chucky, the typewriter, Nicoletti. The suave, polished, and permanent tanned Roselli was the mob's man out west, helping the Chicago Mafia, known as the Outfit, operate in Las Vegas and Hollywood.
35:15
He and his friends with Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe and had, excuse me, he was friends with Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe and had even ventured into film producing, unquote. Can you understand how the average mind, this is so much more psychologically compelling than believing in a government conspiracy? Those questions raised by generations of conspiracy theorists can be answered.
35:40
but in a way that doesn't make you question the basic foundations upon which your current government is built. Everybody's a winner, including the intelligence agencies. And since you're already on the hook, they'll feed you more details to seal the deal. Quote, according to Pepe, Roselli had become a highly proficient marksman while helping to organize the training of anti-Castro mercenaries at a secret camp in the Florida Everglades.
36:11
Rosselli had been deeply involved in running mob-controlled casinos in Cuba and were furious when Castro kicked them out and closed them down. According to the CIA documents released in 2007, they were also furious that JFK closed down the U.S. operations to remove Castro. Nicoletti was a hulking stone called hitman for Giacomo, and his first hit had been his own father, whom he had shot when he was 12.
36:39
allegedly in self-defense after Nicoletti Sr. drunkenly pursued him with a knife, unquote. Do you see how you're being distracted from the question of CIA involvement in the Kennedy assassination? You're thinking about Roselli becoming a good shot while working at the CIA secret Cuban mercenary base in the Florida Everglades. You're thinking about the mob running casinos in Cuba and being angry at being shot down.
37:09
You're creating an image in your mind that Charles Nicoletti, the hulking cold stone hitman who killed his father. What you're not thinking about is whether the CIA elements like the CIA station chief Ted Shackley were happy with Kennedy shutting down the Castro assassination plans. And for one final detail about Charles Chucky, the typewriter Nicoletti, there's this Jim. He was said to have.
37:37
been so inured to violence that he calmly ate a plate of pasta while killing a man by squeezing his head in a vice. With the image in your brain, do you have any available space to question the CIA was what they were doing? And if you do, that space will be taken up by throwing mud at the victim of the crime, President Kennedy. The article went on.
38:05
While other mafia chiefs kept a low profile, Giacomo reveled in the limelight, especially when he was out with one of his glamorous mistresses. Astonishingly, two of them, actress Marilyn Monroe and a beautiful woman named Judith Exner, E-X-N-E-R, were having affairs with him over the same period of time that they supposedly were seeing JFK.
38:35
Rumor had it that Giacono helped get JFK elected by exploiting the mob's power over the union vote. So he and his cronies were furious when Kennedy allowed Brother Bobby, his attorney general, to launch a crusade against organized crime, unquote. Every part of that passage may be correct, but it may not be the entire story. Some accounts of that story.
39:00
It was JFK's father, Joseph Kennedy, who approached Giacomo to help with the 1960 election. And JFK and Bobby were appalled when they found out about it, banishing their father from the White House. And here's a newsflash for you. Accusations have been made that Nixon also made overtures to the mafia during the 1960 election. How else do you explain that in 1971, Nixon commuted the prison sentence of Union?
39:29
mafia boss, Jimmy Hoffa, who was accused of investing union pension funds with the mafia's Las Vegas operation. Context is everything. Otherwise, I think the account has a lot of truth behind it, as well as explaining some of the mysteries that have always puzzled me. According to Pepe, this is another quote, Roselli was tasked with shooting Kennedy.
39:57
if Oswald missed while Nicoletti's job was to dispose of Oswald afterwards. As noted by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, Oswald was connected to the mafia through various people, notably an uncle, Charles Morett, M-U-R-R-E-T-T, who was not only a father figure to him, but a key lieutenant in the New Orleans mafia boss, Charles Marcello. Some have argued that Marcello was the
40:27
real brains behind the mafia plot to kill JFK. Silazzi, Giacomo's great nephew, accepts that Marcello may well have been the one who suggested Oswald, who admiration for Fidel Castro opened up the delicious possibility that the Cuban leader might be blamed for the president's murder. Unquote. The dog that isn't barking.
40:54
is the CIA or FBI were doing during this time? Or are we supposed to believe that the mob on its own was plotting to murder the president and neither the FBI nor the CIA was at all aware of any of this? To put it bluntly, the mafia was the operational team for the CIA's campaign to kill Castro. Does it make any sense that the mafia would then freelance their own operation to take Kennedy?
41:24
While the mafia are outlaws, the FBI and CIA are even more powerful with the force of law. As I've said before, the best way to make people believe a lie is to tell as much truth as you can. Then when you get to the critical part, you start to lie. Consider the possible different interpretations of the following passage.
41:49
told his great-nephew that Oswald, watching the Kennedy motorcade from an upper floor window of the Texas book repository, was supposed to shoot him. But knowing he was unreliable, Giaccona sent down Roselli as a backup. According to Pepe, the plan did go wrong. Oswald fired at JFK but missed. When he heard a second shot go off, courtesy of the president's real killer, Roselli, who was lurking with a rifle near the infamous grassy knoll,
42:20
where a second gunman had been alleged to have been waiting, he realized he'd been set up. He fled the building and on seeing Nicoletti and J.T. Tibbetts, a corrupt Dallas police officer waiting in a car to pick him up, he took off. They followed and finally caught up with him an hour later in a residential neighborhood, unquote. I have to admit that the death of Dallas police officer J.D. Tibbetts
42:48
has always been something of a mystery to me. But here's an explanation. Oswald knew the police officer with Nicoletti was there to kill him. Solosi wants us to believe that Oswald was intended as the main shooter, but that makes no sense given Roselli, the clearly superior shot, was supposedly insurance if Oswald missed.
43:14
I think it's just as plausible that Oswald was told, possibly by a CIA or FBI, who, if he wasn't an asset before defecting to Russia, was most likely one afterwards, that he was part of a fake assassination of the president. In other words, Oswald was a patsy, just like he said he was. This is also from the Daily Mail article, quote,
43:41
There was a witness that saw Tibbetts and Oswald in their final encounter, and she said there were two guys in the car. Now, from what Pepe told us, Nicoletti was screaming at Oswald to get in, and he said, excuse my French, F you, you're trying to kill me. Tibbetts, the cop, then got out of the car, and after a brief exchange, Oswald shot him fatally. Pepe's account of Oswald then escaping
44:09
with Nicoletti in hot pursuit, certainly tallies with the statements of several witnesses who said they saw the two men fleeing the scene. One of the skills you learn as an investigator and CIA analyst is you let the story unfold, keeping an open mind, because you might begin, there's a whole bunch of pictures here, so let me get to the next part, to see anomalies. You're supposed to
44:38
disbelieve that Oliver Stone's version of JFK's assassination, because it was too many moving parts, the CIA, military intelligence, the Cubans, the mafia, of course, the Dallas police departments. But wait, Pepe Giacono and his grandnephew, the filmmaker, are telling us that the Dallas police were involved. What does that mean for all the other groups? Six decades later.
45:07
We still don't have all the facts about the JFK assassination. But I'd hoped the picture of what happened is clearing as you read this. It's like a puzzle. As you discover their linkage, you begin to click into place a satisfying map with all the pieces. The only interpretation, which makes sense to me, as to why our government didn't go after the mafia for the JFK assassination.
45:36
is that they were partners in the endeavor, and they're managing it still to keep the secret. Shifting gears here, let's turn our examination of Ted Shackley and what the CIA Miami station was doing just prior to and just after the Kennedy assassination. From the book Blonde Ghost, quote, as Shackley managed raids into Cuba, continued,
46:06
and Castro's denunciation reverberated. Far in the background, Kennedy and Castro took slight moves towards accommodation. In early September, Carlos Lagunda, the Cuban ambassador in the United Nations, discreetly mentioned to William Atwood, the U.S. ambassador to Guinea, that Castro was interested in talks with the American enemy.
46:30
The following month, Kennedy informed Jean Daniel, a French journalist on his way to see Castro, that he could live with a socialist Cuba, but not one ruled by a Soviet lackey. See me when you get back from Cuba, Kennedy told Daniel. Shackley's own book told us he didn't think Kennedy had sufficient enthusiasm for the Cuban operation.
46:56
Kennedy had failed to provide air support to the Cuban rebels and as such likely avoided their plans to be dragged into the conflict. 18 years after the end of World War II, Kennedy was looking for a way out of the Cold War. This was just another example of what some would call Kennedy's cowardness in confronting communism and others would call a bold move towards peace.
47:22
But even as Kennedy was trying to promote peace with Cuba, and by extension, the Soviet Union, the CIA was meeting with one of its assets that was still inside of Cuba, Rolando Cubela, whose code name in the CIA is Amlash, A-M-L-A-S-H. Cubela was a hero of the fight against the previous Cuban dictator, Batista.
47:48
a current government official in Castro's regime, and believed the CIA's goal of assassinating Castro. The effort with Kubela would also involve a CIA asset falsely posing as a representative of the Attorney General of the United States, Robert Kennedy. Des Fitzgerald, this is a quote, Des Fitzgerald posing as a personal representative of Bobby Kennedy saw Kubela in Paris.
48:18
He promised Kubela that the U.S. would support a rebellion against Castro. On November 22, 1963, Fitzgerald and case officer Nestor Sanchez again rendezvoused with Kubela in Paris. The CIA men pledged that Shackley Station would deliver Kubela's weapons, including high-powered rifles that they could use to kill Castro. Afterward, Langley cabled
48:46
and told him to prepare a cache of hand grenades, guns, ammunition, and plastic explosives for Amlash. The two CIA men presented Kubela with a ballpoint pen rigged to contain poison. Surely, Kubela protested, the agency could come up with something better than that. He refused to take the pen. A CIA internal report referring to Amlash case.
49:15
Later observed, it is likely that at the very moment President Kennedy was shot, a CIA officer was meeting with a Cuban agent and was giving him an assassination device for Castro. When critics of the CIA suggest the agency acts like a bunch of cowboys, the Cuban fiasco is often exhibit number one. What makes me exceedingly angry?
49:47
when I consider the Cuban operation is the question of whether this was an exception to how the CIA operates or usual business. Much of this information was known when I was a young CIA officer. One of my jobs at the CIA was onboarding new agents, standing in front of a bunch of new recruits in an auditorium.
50:08
known as the bubble and telling them the truth that the agency about the agency they had joined but instead of telling the truth i'm now convinced i showered them with lies i said the agency existed as a servant of our democracy and elected leaders not as a hidden hand of course some would bring up the cuban situation the project phoenix in vietnam perhaps even the iran contra affair or any number of other instances and there would be nervous laughter
50:38
but I gently guide them back to the agency's approved narrative. I was a true believer. Perhaps that's the path of all thinking people we believe so fervently when we're young and doubt everything when we're older. Nothing makes me sadder than when I consider the following two paragraphs realizing how Kennedy's attempt to broker peace with Castro failed in the wake of his death and how the agency tried to use his death for their own ends without even pausing a moment.
51:07
Going on with that article, quote, in Cuba, Castro on November 22nd was lunching with Jean Daniel, the French journalist, when he learned Kennedy had been shot dead. This is bad news, he responded. Later in the day, he asked Daniel, what authority does LBJ exercise over the CIA? The day after Kennedy's death, Langley ordered Shackley to activate JM Wave's propaganda assets. The CIA wanted to make.
51:37
certain, the media reports on the tragedy observed that Kennedy's last major address to a Latin American audience concentrated on Cuba freedom. Headquarters also cabled Shackley, postponed sabotage ops indefinitely. Rescheduling will depend upon consultations with appropriate officials, the new president and his advisors.
52:02
The mischief and sabotage operations against Cuba would continue for some time under the new president, LBJ, but they would reach the same conclusion Kennedy had reached much earlier, namely that there was little that could be done to dislodge Castro. But there was a new war to be fought now, and that was going to be in Vietnam. And Ted Shackley would be at the front and center of that effort as well. One might say.
52:30
He was at the peak of his powers, the ultimate arbiter of life and death for an entire nation. So that's the end of that chapter. And we'll wait till tomorrow to go into chapter six, because it takes us to Ted Shackley's Vietnam time. So that's it for today. And I just want to conclude my portion of this with saying.
53:04
It was hard for me to read that particular chapter because you could tell that Kevin Shipp was acknowledging that he had belonged to an organization that he now knew was doing completely different things than what he realized while he was on the inside. And I felt kind of a very close linkage to him.
53:33
in my original discovery of operation gladio realizing that some of the military is also just as corrupt as some of the cia and so i can feel his pain in revealing and writing those words um that you know and again standing up in front of new recruits basically telling them that everything that they may think about the cia is not true
54:02
when in fact it not only is true but it's much much worse um and that that's tough that is a tough place to be elinai what are your thoughts hey colonel yeah it's uh that's that's something where you know when it comes to the government i i'm not as familiar with i did have a thought uh lee harvey oswald i know that you mentioned uh morgan tao who was quoted in an earlier chapter
54:45
who was sort of describing H.R. Haldeman's claims that that whole Bay of Pigs thing was about JFK. He was at a set of hearings in 2025 on the final release of the JFK files, and they finally declassified Lee Harvey Oswald's file, which is 180 pages long.
55:15
One of the things that Morley somehow was able to figure out was that there was a three-letter initial in that file that was Angleton's secretary. And if you check the dates on it, that file was checked at the week of Kennedy's assassination. It was on his desk. So, that's huge. That's huge. It's pretty...
55:56
It's I mean, there's a lot of indications that they knew about the seat that the CIA knew about, you know, this guy before he pulled the trigger. And, you know, even while he was doing it, they kind of had their eyes on him. But I think if you like, I want to we need to go back to your Morgenthau connection here, because I think that that's probably pretty newsworthy, too, in the context of.
56:30
of the Angleton stuff, and it might be enough corroboration there to kind of... Are you talking about DeMorganshield or Morgenthau? I thought Morgenthau was hanging... Whoever the guy was who was hanging out with Lee Harvey Oswald... That's DeMorganshield. DeMorganshield, sorry. George DeMorganshield. Yeah, so again, you have to...
57:00
And you make a great point. You have to take it in its whole totality. You can't look at any one piece. So Lee Harvey Oswald was known to the CIA while he's working in a CIA program in Japan. Then he just so happens to go to Russia. Russia doesn't want anything to do with him because they believe he's a mole. Well, if the KGB believes that he's not for real.
57:30
He probably wasn't for real because the KGB was very, very good at spotting people that were associated with the CIA. Very, very, very good at it. He marries a Russian and, excuse me, comes back to the United States. And he just so happens to be thrown into a whole bunch of really.
57:59
connected people like George DeMorganshield, who's known Alan Dulles almost his entire life. That's not a coincidence. The same thing is true with him being in the second floor of Guy Bannister, who is known to affiliate with the mafia. We found out he was also a Minuteman. And also the connection of Lee Harvey Oswald to the Civil Air Patrol.
58:29
detachment that was in New Orleans where he met David Ferrari. Well, who's David Ferrari? He's a CIA pilot. And David Ferrari is the CIA agent that is named in one of these books as the pilot that flew the OAS agent, the French OAS agent out of Dallas that day. There's so many connections that we've uncovered.
58:59
that you don't hear most people talking about. So I agree with you that it's just amazing to me, all of the stuff that's coming out. But I had not heard about the initials of Angleton's secretary being on Lee Harvey Oswald's file as far as checking it out, which meant Angleton had it.
59:31
Because again, Angleton is the one common denominator of all the moving parts of the JFK assassination. Him and Harvey, his boss. They are like the belly button of the whole thing. The mafia part of it, the Cuban exile part of it, all of it. Those two people were pulling strings. There's no doubt about it.
1:00:08
Yeah, I just did. I noticed he had a little dot. Yeah, I just threw him the co-host thing back. It would not.
1:00:47
he renounced it. And now he's got Angleton in the same way. Hold on a second, Bridget. SR, you're going to have to go all the way out and come back in because it's not letting me. It keeps saying there's an error. Okay, go ahead. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cut you off. It's okay. You know, these guys were, even though they weren't still technically employed by the CIA, they were still the string pullers. Do you think there was one after?
1:01:26
So there has been an ongoing entity called the Enterprise. I mean, it's gone by different names since. Well, first of all, there has always been assets that the CIA has used, like Edwin Wilson, you know, that goes way back. So you have agents and you have assets.
1:01:57
Assets basically make up a shadow CIA. They function as being in charge of things like Air America or the World Commerce Corporation or the Flying Tigers or any of those entities that we know are CIA fronts. So those are assets, some of which has it's been revealed later.
1:02:25
And remember, we learned in that document that we were going through, they have fake corporations that are set up to manage retirements for these shadow people. So the CIA has a set of books, and let's just use numbers. Let's say their set of books has 5,000 agents.
1:02:56
Pay assets. So let's say there's 5000 assets and 5000 agents. So the agents you can all find on a budget somewhere. They're paid for their civil service, all of that crap. These assets are all aligned in either fake companies or.
1:03:22
They're paid cash for their services like the assassins, the Cuban exiles. But even a lot of them actually worked for fake companies that were set up in the Miami area. Some of them were on the payroll at the newspaper down there. And they set up an entire fake operating environment. So they have one company that pays them.
1:03:50
They have another company that looks like a private equity company that actually invest their 401ks, their retirement and whatever. And that company that they have another company that does all of the personnel stuff. These are all stovepipes. So they don't talk to each other and they don't know about each other. And so the age, the HR fake company.
1:04:18
They are the ones that if these people are assassinated or killed doing a CIA mission, that hopefully, and this does not always happen because it's plausible deniability, they're the ones that will contact the other fake company through cutouts to pay the death benefits to the beneficiaries of the asset that is not an agent.
1:04:48
So all of these different fake companies are set up in a completely different environment and managed out of one office in the CIA. That one office is the only office that knows where all of those fake things are. And some of them, when I say fake, like Air America, Stellar worked for them, they're not actually a fake company.
1:05:18
i use that term because they're not what they appear to be they will have cargo flights they will have passenger charter flights they will do all kinds of air operations to make them appear to be a legitimate air airline but what they're really there for is to fly cia covert missions and so you have some that appear
1:05:46
to be legitimate businesses when they're just a CIA front. And then you have ones that are just completely fake. They don't have employees. They're just the name of a company and a bank account for them to launder money through. So you have all of these different things set up over here on the fake side, the black side, the covert side. And then you have what we know to be the actual CIA. So ask your question again.
1:06:22
Bridget. So I don't think there's ever been one.
1:06:59
No. There is a cadre of corrupt people in the CIA. They obviously had to have a leader. They're never going to let anybody in the CIA. And I mean, Stanford Turner is probably the only guy in the history of the CIA that was not.
1:07:29
handpicked by the syndicate to be in charge of the CIA. And he's the guy that fired the almost 1,000 person within a few months that same year that Carter took over. And then the following year, he fired a whole bunch more. That's as close as anyone has ever came to holding the CIA accountable. But it can't be just one person.
1:07:54
Because that one person could drop over dead and have a heart attack or whatever. And they're not going to ever risk not controlling the CIA. It's much too critical to their operation. So it's best to think of it as a cadre within the official CIA that manages the covert side of the CIA. And all of those fired CIA.
1:08:24
agents during the Carter administration went over to the black ops covert side until Stanford was gone. Now, let me just rephrase that. Not all of them went there. We found out if you track quite a few of them, they went to corporations, which we know controls the CIA because the CIA actually works.
1:08:49
their agenda they went to major corporations they went to pr firms like that hill and knowlton they went to that one called gray um that was running the brothel in dc that was spying on everybody that was having sex with people they weren't supposed to um so they they were placed in temporary corporate entities whether they were law firms or pr firms or
1:09:18
part of the oligarch. I mean, and it's obvious it's still going on. Where did that chick from the Secret Service go? She went to PepsiCo. PepsiCo is one of the most corrupt corporations there is. And so the ability for them to exchange people back and forth in this monstrosity that they've created is unequal to anything that I've ever seen.
1:09:51
Does that make sense? Yeah, I don't think there was ever one person that, obviously there's a pecking order, but I don't think it's ever been one person. Okay, what else we got? It's Wednesday in the International Syndicate. I agree. I agree 100%. I'm just fascinated with this fact that this guy's an actual CIA agent.
1:10:33
is sharing all of these details. And obviously, I mean, it took quite a bit. It took them trying to kill him in order for him to be convinced that they weren't legitimate. But I am fascinated that we found this book and have been able to share it because I do think it provides the insight for people that had
1:11:03
you know maybe still was a little skeptical over um someone that um or about all of this information you're hearing it right from the sources um at this point um sr go ahead and thank everyone for attending today as well as those people i love relevant today and what's going on but what i find amazing so far the way this book started out
1:11:38
This man has got more information on just about every operation that we have discussed at some point in time in all of your sessions. It just boggles my mind how much has come out of this book. I can't help but think he must have been doing some kind of research on his own where he must have been...
1:12:07
privy to it one way or another. Well, I think, and of course I'm completely speculating at this point, but it's obvious to me that once he realized what the CIA actually was, and they tried to kill him at least once, if not twice, that during the time that he had available to him,
1:12:37
after he lost his family that he did his homework and again as you and i and everybody else on here has said a million times all of this information is not classified every single thing that i have found is not classified and it's all available it's all in books and i have now read enough books that has
1:13:07
use different sources for the same information so many times that it's unequivocally clear to me that all of this information that I presented to you is true. Now, we haven't even got to the part in the book where he actually mentions Operation Gladio because he does. But yes, he obviously, after having had happened what happened.
1:13:37
began doing his own research. That's quite clear. Because again, he is not talking about anything that's classified in this book at all. So yeah, it's amazing when someone has taken everything from you that you hold dear, what you will do in order to expose the people that have done that.
1:14:08
yeah um align i go ahead yeah i i think a lot of this is outside research by by kevin ship just given how compartmentalized it's it's probably going to be in there but it's it's funny how you know he was he was the briefer telling everybody coming in you know that's you know everything that you all the conspiracy theories you've heard you know about us
1:14:36
Most of them are false. It's actually relatively boring here. We work for the federal government and everything. And everybody assumes that that is what is going on in all of these different compartmentalized stacks. And it's all just sort of business as usual there until it's not. And that's sort of what Kevin Chip stumbled on. Yes, that's it exactly.
1:15:08
And again, just like with my friend, the general that was in charge of Air University, who listens to all of our shows, that's the way he feels. He was in charge of the professional military education for the entire Air Force. He didn't know any of this. I mean, he may have known pieces of this, but the...
1:15:40
The revelation of what you have spent your life doing in the environment that you thought you were operating in when the light gets turned on and you realize you're not even in the same planet. You're not in the same room. You're not in the same state. You're not even on the same planet.
1:16:06
Everything around you, and that's why I use that analogy, is a hologram. It's not real. The entire environment that you grew up in, that you grounded your entire life with, because that piece, especially for those of us who spent 30 or more years in the military, that's a grounding rod for you. That is where you put your stake in the ground.
1:16:33
You gave it, in some cases, your all. And you watched people. I mean, we had people in a few of my units that that was their last offering up was their life for their country. And that to know then afterwards that that was all.
1:17:05
for this operation that has been going on and it was not for what you originally thought it was for it's very disrupting to everything about you to your core it's very disrupting um and you saw it yesterday i don't know if um frank's in the audience again but you saw it with him wanting to make sure people realized that
1:17:33
Not everybody knows what's going on. And of course, I make that point all the time because I lived inside the beast for 30 years and didn't know a damn thing about what was going on. And again, as a colonel, that's very disorienting. So we all know that. But it is the hardest part for anybody that has served in the military. And I completely get that. So.
1:18:08
Anybody got anything else? Okay. I do want to share something with you. We are working behind the scenes to try to, and I'm not going to tell you everything that we're doing, but I do want to give you a hint. We are trying to make this, I have been searching for months now.
1:18:36
You guys know I shared with that Kumu brain map. I have been exploring a whole bunch of different ways to make our information more user friendly. So behind the scenes, I'm working with a couple of you and I'm not going to disclose who that is yet. But I do want to say this. If you are a good writer.
1:19:05
If you're watching this and you have writing skills and you want to volunteer to do a couple of projects, there is going to be an opportunity for those people to contribute to a product that will be very user-friendly to be able to find information.
1:19:36
at your fingertips about this topic, Operation Gladio. And so without saying anything else, I just want to let you guys know that if you wouldn't mind, and I haven't cleared this with Bridget yet, if you wouldn't mind, I would love for Bridget to keep a list of names of people that if you guys DM her, she has her DMs open.
1:20:05
if you would DM her as a volunteer to do some of the writing. And basically, you don't have to actually do any research at all. I'm talking about things that we've already produced. I'm talking about either transcripts of these shows on a particular subject, transcripts of Alpha's shows that I've done. The material's all there.
1:20:32
it just needs to be edited and put in a final format that could be used and i will do the referencing of the material because i still have all of the um websites and all that other stuff saved that i can just insert the um but the copying and pasting and then my awful grammar um all of that crap so again if you have writing skills
1:21:02
And you want to be part of that and not anyway, please let Bridget know that because what we want to do is give you a tool that at the fingertips, like what Carrie was saying the other day, if you're out talking to someone, you could literally give them a website and say all of the information's right here. If they want to look at it, fine. If they don't, don't.
1:21:33
But I just want to let you guys know that there's going to be some tools available for you in the near future that will make the exposure of Operation Gladio. Because I just feel like there's something coming. There's a, and I mean, that's what Alpha keeps telling me all the time. There's an acceleration, like a hierarchy of,
1:22:04
information that's being exposed while at the same time there's attacks of the people and that information as it's being exposed so what I would like to have is a foolproof way of having that information out there so anyway that's all I got for today I need to run it is family dinner night and
1:22:32
I will be having dinner with the Cates brothers tonight as well as my sister. So that should be fun. And then I will be on the Alpha Warrior show for part two of our exposure of the continuing topic that we talked about two weeks ago, which was the supercomputers and how that leads us to Jeffrey Epstein. So that show will be tonight. Okay. You guys take care. Talk to you soon. All right.
1:23:07
we're off there um i didn't want to answer this one question how does the cia and kennedy's assassination fall into historic assassinations well again if you look at the assassinations prior to world war ii um obviously they didn't have anything to do with the cia but if you understand as i've said repeatedly
1:23:37
that the CIA is nothing new. It's an intelligence capability that existed long before World War II. It was just taken, consolidated, and placed into the government after World War II. That capability existed before then. There are lots of questions.
1:24:06
about several of the assassinations. Lincoln. And if you guys have not been to Dave McGowan's website, let me see if I can find that real quick. Hold on just a second. Dave McGowan website. He's the guy that wrote the article.
1:24:38
or lots of articles about Laurel Canyon, weird scenes of Laurel Canyon. He wrote, excuse me. Well, it doesn't give me his website here. Hold on just a second. Let me see if I can find it. There it is. Center for an Informed America. So let me find, he has a feature.
1:25:16
on Lincoln. And I would just ask you, I'm going to come clip it and put it in the messages or in the chat. I would just ask you to go click on this and read it. It's several installments. And it's crazy. There's a lot of questions. It looks a lot like Kennedy's assassination in many different ways. So read that.
1:25:45
Let me know what you think. Gotta run. Talk to you guys later.
