Kennedy vetoed that and finally told Johnson that Conley was going to accompany him, and Johnson would have to accommodate Yarborough. Yarborough, LBJ hated Yarborough. Now, it was too late to notify the field action teams already set up overlooking Dealey Plaza that the target positions had been altered at the last minute.

21:41 If Yarborough was on the target list, he was no longer positioned riding in front of Kennedy. Now, I want to stop right there. LBJ hates Yarborough. And he wanted Yarborough in that seat to take the shot that Connolly ends up getting shot with. Let that sink in for a second. And they get into an argument about it.

22:10 Like LBJ gets to tell JFK who's riding in his car? Instead of driving across the metropolitan area to the trademark in Dallas, Kennedy chose to fly the short distance. That way he would not have to drive past the General Dynamic plant where the F-111 was being developed. I don't know why that's relevant, but it had rained that morning, but the sky was clearing as the presidential party deplaned.

Finally, it came to the right-hand turn that swung from Main Street onto Houston. The convoy slowly moved north on Houston until it reached Elm. At that point, the lead vehicle, driven by a Dallas police captain, P.W. Lawrence, turned left, almost coming to a stop.

He was standing a bit back from the window like he was waiting for something. Arnold directed Barbara's attention to the depository, but by the time she looked up, the man with the rifle had stepped back. Thinking,

Amos Ewins, E-U-I-N-S, a 16-year-old student, was standing on the corner of Houston and Elm, where the street made the 120-degree angle turn to the west. As the president's Lincoln slowed to negotiate the turn, Ewins waved briefly and then happened to look up at the depository.

25:38 He later testified before the Warren Commission that he had seen a pipe sticking out of the window, like the barrel of a gun. It was on the easternmost window. The western end of Dealey Plaza, near the grassy knoll, also had been the subject of some strange happenings. Gordon Arnold, a 22-year-old soldier on leave from basic training,

His statement, quote, I walked to this particular corner near the railroad bridge because I wanted to take pictures off the railroad bridge. And he came back up and told me, quote, I told you to get out of this area. He replied, OK. So I walked the complete distance of the fence and got around on the other side. He goes on. Through the accounts of these and other eyewitnesses, the Zabruder film, still photos, reports, documents, and various publications of note. What happened next can be reconstructed with a great degree of accuracy. This is not the same reconstruction demonstrated at the Warren Commission.

Because of the low velocity of the round, the bullet did not penetrate deeply or become what is known in forensic ballistics, a through and through.

29:40 gunshot wound. In the Zabruder film, Kennedy can be seen emerging from behind the metal freeway sign clutching his throat with both of his hands as if he was choking. His face bore a look of surprise. Jackie is also seen at this point beginning to notice something's wrong with her husband. It is possible that this shot was fired by a small caliber rifle, probably a CIA issue 22 caliber model.

30:08 74 Winchester silenced sniper rifle to immobilize Kennedy's head for the second powered rifle shot to come next. One of the two Grassy Knoll shooters, he thinks it was, well, it could have been Roscoe White or Sarte, was the technician or the shooter. As the Lincoln slowly approached,

This shot, however, came from the Dow Tech's building located in the rear of the president, across from the Texas school book depository. It was also an undercharged cartridge. For after striking Kennedy in the back, four inches below his collar and just to the right of his spine, it failed to penetrate more than one inch.

31:11 It later was either clandestinely removed prior to the arrival of Kennedy's body at Bethesda or fell out sometime after the motorcade sped away. This hit was also not a through and through gunshot wound and was later described by the commission attorney Arlen Specter and upheld by the Warren Commission.

31:37 Kennedy's body slumped forward slightly, but not dramatically as it would if it had been hit by a high velocity round. Instead, Kennedy merely dropped his head down slightly and leaned forward a few inches. Governor Conley in the film can be seen turning around at this point to see what was happening. He looked at Kennedy, then even though this shot came from behind, turned his head back forward to look at the grassy knoll.

32:08 It is obvious at this point Connolly is unharmed. The Warren Commission, however, maintains that this shot went through Kennedy's back just below and to the right of his neck, exited his throat near his necktie, and then struck Connolly, leaving seven wounds in two men. Not possible.

32:33 of disinformation created by Spectre to explain how so many wounds were made by three bullets fired by Oswald was later dubbed the magic bullet theory. The most bizarre point on this particular shot, if anyone believes this theory, was that the bullet had to make two 90 degree turns between Kennedy's body and Conley and had to pause 1.8 seconds in flight at the same time.

33:02 The next shot was fired from the book depository and is the actual shot that struck Conley. It penetrated his back, traveled around his rib cage, breaking a rib, then exited his chest near his right nipple to strike his right wrist, which held a white Stetson hat. It then deflected downward into his left thigh. Conley obviously shocked.

33:30 that he too had been hit, screamed, my God, they're going to kill us all. The next shot came from the Dow Tech's building, fired as a diversionary shot that narrowly missed the limo. It flew along and struck the curb near the triple underpass and shattered into fragments. One such fragment ricocheted up and hit James Tague, T-A-G-U-E, a bypasser who was standing

34:00 between Maine and Commerce. It hit him on the right cheek. The fifth and sixth shot were fired almost simultaneously. The fifth shot came from the book depository, possibly from the roof, and also missed the car. It struck the sidewalk on the north side of the street to the right of the limo, leaving its mark in the cement. At this point, for some unknown reason, the presidential limo, instead of racing away from the scene, as was the procedure, came to a stop.

34:29 Witnesses reported that the brake lights came on briefly and Agent Greer, the driver, and Agent Kellerman turned around to look at their passengers. The limousine was now positioned exactly at the intersection of the triangulation of the kill zone. The sixth and final shot would not miss. It was the one fired by a man positioned behind the picket fence, approximately 30 to 40 feet.

34:58 west of the corner of the fence on the grassy knoll. As so vividly portrayed in the Zapruder film, this shot struck Kennedy in the right front temple area of his head and exploded on contact. His head was instantly driven to the left rear. Pieces of the brain skull, blood splurted out from the rear of the president's head and struck a Dallas police motorcycle officer riding escort.

Other bits of skull and brain matter from the president's right temple explode in a vertical plane, not a conical pattern cast forward as alluded to by the rear headshot advocates. The film plainly depicts a reddish mist that casts a piece of skull directly upwards at a 90 degree angle to the ground.

35:57 Such a bullet strike can only be accomplished by an exploding or frangible bullet. This type of bullet was favored by Lucien Sartre. Almost immediately, Jackie recoils in horror, crawled out of the seat across the trunk, and retrieved a piece of his skull. It was later found still clasped in her gloved hands at the emergency room. Beyond the triple underpass commanding a direct line of sight view of the grassy knoll and picket fence from the rear stood a very important witness to what had just happened. 37:23 For the camera, he posed behind the picket fence as if holding the rifle, then walked casually but quickly along the fence to the west where he pantomimed, throwing the rifle to another man. He then turned, adjusted his invisible hat, and walked away towards the end of the fence. At that point, he stopped this activity and moved to the west end of the fence to portray the man who received the rifle. He explained that this man was dressed like a railroad worker.

Gordon Arnold, the young soldier who had just come out of basic training, where he had been subjected to being in close proximity with weapons, and who was standing in front of the picket fence,

A second shot was fired over my head, unquote. At this point, Arnold hit the ground, still clutching his mother's movie camera. Literally what the man did was kick me and asked me if I was taking pictures. I told him I had. 39:19 Three days later, I was in Alaska and didn't come back to the United States for 18 months. Numerous other witnesses place assassins on the grassy knoll. Indeed, so many that the majority of the witnesses in the plaza, including the police officers and sheriff deputies, raced towards that spot as soon as they could cross the street. Others who had been standing nearby can be seen on the movie footage taken at the time to be hugging the grass in fear.

41:40 Within minutes, the depository was overwhelmed with police all racing up to the sixth floor. Three expended shell casings were found laying neatly side by side, only a few inches apart next to the open southeast window, and a hunt began in earnest for a weapon. Roger Craig, a distinguished deputy sheriff who had been officer of the year in 1960, described the search.

42:09 Quote, we began the search for a weapon. Deputy Sheriff Eugene Boone and myself just happened to head for the southwest corner of the building. Boone was ahead of me by about eight feet. I immediately walked over beside him and looked and there was a rifle.
