Exploring a few of Hollywood's Operation Gladio shows

0:00 want to do a short video of something I found today. And it has to do with the show 24. So I know you guys, I've told you like a hundred times, I don't watch television. I'm not clued in on any of that stuff. But I did back in the day when I was still on active duty.

0:29 watch the show 24. And basically I only did it because everybody, my two best friends, everybody at the staff meeting, all of the other directors on base all watched it. And so after every evening, that's all anybody talked about the next day. So I decided I'd start watching it just so I could join in the conversation.

0:55 So I wanted to show you something since now I look at everything with Gladio glasses on. I have up on the screen, and we're just going to go off of what Wiki says about it. So we're going to look at Joel Cernault and Robert Cochran in a minute. This, everybody knows, is a series that had Kiefer Sutherland in it, and he was a counter-terrorist federal agent.

1:26 Now because of what he did, I'm going to, for the sake of argument, basically say that he was CIA. You can say whatever you want about that. And everybody knows that it was basically geared around each season being like a day.

1:56 And a couple of things about what it says. Bauer is already a highly proficient agent, ends justify the means approach. Sounds like Gladio to me. This means that he will usually threaten, disregard, and lie to anyone who refuses to cooperate with him. Sounds like Gladio, CIA. Throughout the series, the plot elements contain political theory.

The action component shows Bauer using people on both sides of the law in his attempt to prevent terrorist attacks and bring down those responsible. You know, always the bad guy versus the good guy. These attacks include presidential assassination attempts. Hello, bomb detonations. Hello, bioterrorism. Didn't we just go through that? Cyber warfare.

2:53 Hello. So we've got everything, all of the Gladio stuff right here in this show. 24 received positive reviews with its fifth season being universally praised by critics. However, it was criticized because of its Islamophobia and the glorification of torture, which is a highlight in every Gladio country that we've studied. In May of 2013,

3:23 it was announced that 24 would return for a 12-episode limited series titled 24 Live Another Day, which aired in 2014, bringing the episode count to 204. Spinoff series 24 Legacy premiered. I didn't watch any of these, by the way. But what also was interesting to me is the premise. 24 is a serial drama.

3:55 An agent initially with the counterterrorism unit Los Angeles, whose mandate is to protect the U.S. from terrorist plots. The episode takes place over the course of a one hour each episode depicting events as they happen in real time. However, commercial breaks, blah, blah, blah. And then they talk about.

In addition to Bauer, each episode typically follows other U.S. officials in the counterterrorism unit, FBI and CIA, and the White House, as well as conspirators who set the events in motion. Because many of them commit murder for political gain, several of Bauer's contacts are killed in the sequence of...

While Bauer does have the utmost respect for his colleagues, friends, and family members, he always believes himself to know how to provide the best way of saving in every scenario. 24 is known for employing plot twists, which may arise. Objectives evolve. Larger scale operations unfold.

5:12 Stories also involve interpersonal relationships, private lives, blah, blah, blah. Examples of this is a bombing in season two, which can only be prevented by blowing Bauer's cover, and an ultimatum in season three, in which a terrorist agrees to carry out an attack if a high-ranking CTU official is killed.
